Welcome to our school web site! Most of our special events, schedules and policies can be found posted on the web site.
In the beautiful mountain valleys of the southwest Yukon, our school is surrounded by forests, lakes and glacier-topped mountains. We are less than two hours’ drive from Whitehorse and participate in many sports tournaments with teams from the city. As well, our Kindergarten to Grade 12 classes follow British Columbia curriculum with a Yukon, particularly First Nation, variation. Enjoy learning about our school. Computers are available

Questions??

Mr. Symanski and Ms. Allen must apply for the computer on a family/student's behalf.

Computers for Schools (https://www.cfsy.ca) is part of a federal government-led program that collects, repairs, and refurbishes donated surplus computers from government and private sector sources and distributes them free to students that may need help getting a low cost computer for home use.

Many of the applications that Yukon Education approves and supports don't require software to start, only a web browser and an internet connection is needed (Zoom, Google G Suite, Office 365, FreshGrade, Moodle, etc.). Yukon students have access to Microsoft licensing and can download the Office apps to up to 5 devices.

CFSY has recently received a sizable shipment of laptops that may be helpful for some students. Some have web cams, speakers, and microphones. Most have Wi-Fi/networking cards. Some laptops have French keyboards.

Keep in mind no software, or support, will be provided by ITSS for these computers. The receiving family bears the responsibility for upgrade costs, internet connection and support.

Costs:
The costs for students are:
  • $130.00 for the premium laptops (including Windows) (French keyboards are available)
  • $55.00 for basic laptop (including Windows)
  • $10.00 for older desktops (including monitors and Windows)
Payment:
  • Computers for schools accepts cash or e-transfers only at this time. Please contact them to make arrangements for payments.
  • Community Shipments of Computers:
  • If communities require computers to be shipped, Resource Services can help facilitate devices being shipped to the community schools.
